Your donor-designated giving will have a positive influence on the lives of those who are less fortunate. Receive Tax Credit for a Cash Donation

In 1998, Arizona began the welfare tax credit (ARS 43-1088) for eligible taxpayers that financially support a qualifying organization that provides assistance for Arizona's working poor population. A credit is allowed against the state income tax for voluntary cash contributions to a qualifying charitable organization (like Shoebox Ministry) that assists the working poor. The credit is not to exceed $200 for an individual or $400 for a married couple in any tax year. This is a dollar-for-dollar tax credit on your Arizona income tax. Shoebox Ministry is a qualified charitable organization listed with the Arizona Department of Revenue. The tax credit is a dollar-for-dollar return of the state tax you owe. For example, if your state taxes owed were $750 and you made the qualifying $200 donation, you would reduce the amount of state taxes you owe to $550. This means that your donation cost you nothing and you had a say in where your hard earned tax dollars are spent. Please check with your tax advisor for further details.

Donate Much-Needed Toiletries

Shoebox Ministry is always in need of toiletries. We gladly accept full-size, travel or hotel-sized items. Our most needed items are shampoo, deodorant, shaving cream, toothpaste, toothbrushes and disposable razors. Many of these items can be purchased for less than one dollar at your local Dollar Store, Big Lots or Wal-Mart. When shopping for your own family, pick up some extra items to share with a family that desperately needs your help.
